Working capital and cash flow finance, explained.

An overdraft is a limit on the trading account; invoice finance advances a percentage of unpaid invoices; trade finance funds stock between purchase and sale. Each is priced on the business's trading record and the security offered, which may be property, the debtor ledger or a director's guarantee.

Lenders read the business activity statements and bank statements closely. Seasonal businesses, growing businesses and businesses with long payment terms are the usual users.
